Boy Scoout Troop 169, Stow Ohio

Troop 169 is a part of the Moecomdws District of the Great Trail Council of Akron, and chartered by First Christian Church of Stow.

We meet every Tuesday at 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. The exception being the ever popular No School Days! Meetings will end at 8:30 pm. Please be at the church at 8:30 to pick up your Scout. We cannot leave your Scout on his own while he waits for a ride.

Welcome Back!

Hope you all had a great summer but now its time to get back into the swing of things again. School is starting up and so is our new Scout year. August 31^st will be our first meeting and we have a lot to jump in too.

At this meeting, we will be starting to set the pace for the year. We will officially post notice for those of you thinking of running for leadership positions. A brief announcement was sent out by email to you all and hopefully those of you interested have begun to fill out your applications and ready them to turn into Mr. Knox. These need to be turned in prior to the Sept. 7^th meeting so don’t hesitate.

Also at this meeting we will be finalizing those ideas for meetings and activities we had discussed at Summer Camp. So, if you want a say in what we do make sure you attend.

In response to our discussions at Summer Camp we will be attempting to provide an outside meeting each month. These meetings will be held at a different venue other than the church. They may encompass a specific topic or a number of topics – they may even be just for fun! Ya never know.

Green Bar – Jr. Leader Training

All newly elected leaders are strongly encouraged to attend this all day and night training session.

We will meet at the Gilwell Shelter at Camp Manatoc at 0900 hours on Sept. 25, 2010.

You will spend the day learning about your new position, leadership skills, team building, conflict resolution and basic Scouting skills.

Lunch, dinner and breakfast will be provided and you will have the option of staying in tents or in the lodge.

This will be a very busy, serious day and night of training.
